2mw 473nm laser (blue) pointer - Aquarius

This is an Aquarius series laser pointer, purchased from megagreen lasers
This laser is a 1-5mw, 473nm (blue) pulsed, laser pointer. This pointer is slightly thicker than a normal laser pointer. It has excellent beam quality with no scatter at all, the divergence is ok, but not fantastic. The blue colour is amazing!

473nm BLUE LASER POINTER UK

After stagnation of innovation the Handheld Laser Pointer Market for some years it looks like we have a couple of years of vast growth and innovation. The last five years have seen prices of amazing little RED Laser pointer decrease from £80 to under £5 (Red 670nm) ..at that time hand held Green Laser Pointer (532nm) were entering the market at almost £1000 each but as production Increased some five years on we now sell them for £59 . During Sept 2004 Yellow Laser pointers (593.5 nm) launched to the market @ £249 , a reasonable price for such an Innovation in colour but worldwide volumes have been slow and their has been trade price increases which may ultimately result in Increases in retail prices for yellow laser during the period 05/06 as the manufactuers try to recoup their investment with margin since the volume does not seem to be appearing.

The reasons we at bluesky believe the take off of yellow laser pointers has been slow ,is the hope of decreases in prices like in Green Laser Prices but it must be remembered that those prices decreases took place over a period of years not months . Also a lot of talk of the introduction of blue lasers ( Sony blue ray - see below ) but nothing happening for 18 months and possibly that there is a real increase in visability with Green over red but the increase in Yellow over Green is only marginal.

SO whats the big Excitement ,. well for the first time anywhere in Europe we can offer you a handheld , battery powered laser pointer thats produces BLUE LIGHT , these are very exclusive and VERY unique

S3 Spyder III Arctic

Wicked Lasers created a sensation with the exciting breakthrough and controversial introduction of the cool blue Arctic Series; a handheld laser with an astonishing one watt power output handsomely housed in 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum and Mil Spec Type III hard black anodized…this is the Arctic… unbelievable performance without that unbelievably hefty price tag!

The Arctic’s direct beam or specular reflection can instantly cause severe damage to eyesight so we feel it is our duty to remind all of our customers that the Arctic’s sheer power demands that that it be operated with respect and caution. To do our part to ensure safe operation, Wicked Lasers has engineered safety into each and every Arctic with another handheld laser first, the standard incorporation of a proprietary electronic SmartSwitch (tm) that prevents unauthorized usage and provides the user with four selectable modes of operation; pulsing or continuous output at either low or high power settings. Additionally, an FDA compliant disabling pin, industry approved safety glasses and user removable training lens are included. Remember to do your part; Always follow the dictates of safety and common sense when operating your Arctic!

Blue and violet laser pointers

Blue laser pointers, which became available around 2006, have the same basic construction as DPSS green lasers. They most commonly lase at 473 nm, which is produced by frequency doubling of 946 nm laser radiation from a diode-pumped Nd:YAG or Nd:YVO4 crystal (Nd-doped crystals usually produce a principal wavelength of 1064 nm, but with the proper reflective coating mirrors can be also made to lase at other non-principal neodymium wavelengths).
In 2006 many factories began production of blue laser-modules for mass storage devices, and these entered the mass consumer market as laser pointers, as well. There were DPSS type frequency-doubled devices. For high output power BBO crystals are used as frequency doublers; for lower powers, KTP is used. The Japanese company Nichia controlled 80% of the blue laser diode market in 2006.[8]
Blue lasers can also be fabricated directly with InGaN semiconductors, which produce blue light without frequency-doubling. 450 nm blue laser diodes are currently available on the open market. The devices are brighter than the 405 nm laser diodes, since the longer wavelength is closer to the peak sensitivity of the human eye. Commercial devices like laser projectors have driven down the prices on these diodes, as of March 2010.
